Three German guys at a technical university in Germany, published a paper where they demonstrated how they had figured out that they could crack WEP and determine the encryption key being used in under a minute.
Until now it took 5 million packets captured
These guys have brought this down to 40,000 packets
The amount of time it takes to hack an encrypted wireless network is dependent on the amount of traffic. Less traffic means the hack will take more time and vise versa...
